Mission

Heber Overgaard Search and Rescue (HOSAR) supports local emergency agencies and provides community safety and prevention education in Heber–Overgaard and surrounding areas.

Services provided

Operational support for local agencies during emergencies and search-and-rescue operations, alongside community safety education. Routine phone and email contacts are for non-emergency inquiries. For an emergency, call 911.

Hours or availability

For non-emergency inquiries, call 928-362-0261 or email info@hosar.org. Contact HOSAR for current availability. The PO Box is a mailing address, not a walk-in location. For an emergency, call 911.

Organization-submitted community programs

HOSAR's supplied restaurant safety training flyer invites restaurant owners to nominate one staff member for free adult/child CPR, AED and Stop the Bleed training. It advertises a $45 rate for a second staff member, with online and in-person instruction taught by HOFD. The flyer lists hands-on sessions on the last Saturday of each month at HOFD. Email CPR@hosar.org to confirm current availability, eligibility, dates, location and costs before attending. Certification details are described in the organization-provided flyer.

Community outreach

Before a hike or outdoor outing, explore Beacon by HOSAR. HOSAR describes sharing a starting GPS marker with someone you trust, checking in during the outing, and confirming when you finish. Review the app instructions and permissions and test it before leaving. Connectivity and device settings can affect message delivery. Do not assume HOSAR is monitoring your trip or rely on the app as your only safety plan. It does not replace 911 or emergency dispatch.
